BIRMINGHAM — Police in Birmingham were on the scene of a homicide in the 1600 block of 1st Avenue South on Sunday night, according to a statement from on social media.
The address is the location of Railroad Park.
According to Officer Truman Fitzgerald, police officers working at Railroad Park reported hearing shots fired at 8:50 p.m. on Sunday. Those officers found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The preliminary police investigation indicates and argument took place in Railroad Park between the victim and another person that led to the shooting. Two adult males were detained at the scene and taken in for questioning.
