ARGO — Carbon Fitness, The Fifth Element, and Beverly’s Dance Unlimited held a combined ribbon cutting ceremony at their shared building in Argo on Friday, August 4.
Inside a shared cinder block building at 8885 Gadsden Highway, the future of Argo business is a combined effort by three organizations to bring new experiences to the community.
Carbon Fitness is front and center with an outdoor area for those looking to get some exercise out in the Summer air. Inside is an expansive gym with everything the enterprising fitness aficionado will need to stay fit and build mass. Carbon Fitness will hold their grand opening tomorrow.
Just to the right of Carbon Fitness, The Fifth Element will be serving up the coffee and nutrition for those looking for their morning pick-me-up or their after workout nutrition shake. The Fifth Element plans to open officially by the end of August.
Beverly’s Dance Unlimited can be accessed by a staircase inside Carbon Fitness or up a flight of stairs in back of the building leading up to a porch and the rear entrance and is ready to continue Beverly’s almost 70 year legacy of dance.
All three owners spoke with the Tribune in the days leading up to the ribbon cutting and were on hand with their families for the ribbon cutting.
In addition to ownership, Mayor Betty Bradley was on hand for the ribbon cutting and said the building represents new opportunities for Argo.
“We’re elated that we have new businesses that want to come to Argo. That building has sat vacant for a while for now so it’s great to see families enjoying it again,” she said. “Parents can go down and get a cup of coffee or go to the gym while their kids are dancing upstairs. It’s going to be a really good thing for families.”
The building is the former city hall for Argo and was once a restaurant before sitting vacant until renovations began for the new enterprise.
Councilman Danny McCarley said the town is excited to see businesses come to Argo. “We’re very happy to have any new business, but especially a coffee shop. I really enjoy good coffee, so we’re looking forward to that. You can never go wrong having a gym around. I’m not going to dance, but I think the dance studio will be great too. We’re very excited about having them all here.”
