So the concerns were confirmed this past week when President Joe Biden picked Colorado over Alabama as the permanent home for the United States Space Command.
Despite Huntsville meeting all of the objective requirements as set by military criteria and being the initial choice of the Air Force, politics was put above national security. The rocket city had been chosen over 59 other cities across the Nation as the most qualified location for the Space Command headquarters.
What is even more evident that the decision was purely political is the fact that Colorado was not even in the top three choices for the site selection, while Huntsville was number one. The Biden Administration continues to make decisions that are not in the best interest of the national defense and thus it is up to Alabama’s Congressional Delegation to lay bare the decision making process here.
With the United States House of Representatives Armed Services Committee being led by Alabama’s own Congressman Mike Rogers, we should feel confident the sordid truth about how pure political patronage won the day over the United States national security will be revealed soon enough.
Congressman Rogers made it clear that he was not going to wave the white flag on this decision and has accused Pentagon leaders of hiding the real reasons behind the about face by the leaders of the Air Force and Space Command. Rogers had already asked for all documents regarding the selection process to be preserved and there are supposed to be interviews of Biden Administration personnel by his committee as well. He is now promising subpoenas if his requests are not met.
Senators Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt have also weighed in on the decision and we should expect further action from them as well. However, it will take the entire federal representation from Alabama working together to expose the administration on the Space Command choice for its final home. Hopefully, with Congressman Rogers leading the charge, the Nation will get to the truth on what has really occurred with this decision.
