BIRMINGHAM – A 44-year-old man died Sunday night after being shot during a reported assault.
Birmingham Police responded to reports of a shooting at the 800 block of 50th Street North, where they found Dedrick Earl Hampton, 44, of Birmingham, suffering from gunshot wounds. Hampton was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:58 p.m.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the death is being investigated as a homicide by the Birmingham Police Department.
