BIRMINGHAM – A single vehicle wreck that occurred at 11:50 p.m. Sunday night has claimed the life of a 4-year-old Hispanic girl.
Ashley Beltran, 4, of Birmingham, was transported to Children’s Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:26 a.m. Monday morning, Aug. 21, 2023.
“The decedent was one of four occupants of a motor vehicle involved in a single-vehicle wreck,” Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said. “All occupants were transported to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.”
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck, which occurred at the 1800 block of Alton Road, Birmingham.
