JEFFERSON COUNTY — A man was found shot to death in the Pinson area on Sunday, according to Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office.
Just before 3 p.m on Sunday, deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 5700 block of Dewey Heights Road in northeast Jefferson County to investigate a call of shots fired and a person down. When deputies arrived, they found an adult male who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
“He was lying in the driveway of an assumed vacant home,” Money said. “The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Witnesses in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.”
Detectives were on the scene Sunday and are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
