The Husky cross country team competed at the Wingfoot XC Classic in Cartersville, Georgia over the weekend.
“The girls team had several season PR’s and had a solid team finish considering we were missing one of our top 5,” said head coach Matthew Michalke.
The girls finished 14th in the Varsity Championship race.
Avery Cahoon 19:19, Mary Durham 19:32, Kinley Harris 19:55, Addison Isbell 21:26 and Callie Armstrong 21:47.
The JV girls finished 14th in the top JV race.
Bella Bales 22:45, Ellen Thomas 23:16, Meah Goodell 23:34, Haley Fogg 25:30 and Lauren Frederick 25:37.
The freshmen girls entered only four runners and did not record a team score.
Madison Coffman 22:57, Lily Clayton 24:47, Leah Anderson 25:25 and Kate Armstrong 28:30.
“Our younger boys ran great, with the freshman boys team placing first in a very competitive division,” Michake said. “We had several freshmen contribute to our varsity team,” said Michake.
The boys team returned with a 19th-place finish in the Varsity Championship race.
Lelan Neal 16:57, Oscar Spears 16:59, Jacob Mullinax 16:59, Noah Jordan 17:05, and Brooks Maddox 17:19.
The freshman boys won the Frosh Boys Championship race. The top seven finished in the top 36.
John Paul Amari 17:33, Jackson Morris 18:03, Steven Richards 18:12, Max Ryan 18:13 and Alan Bryant 19:19.
The boys JV team finished 11th in the JV Championship race.
Charlie Crowson 18:10, Sawyer Garrett 18:22, Rylan Clark 19:04, Teague Jones 19:05 and Elliott Greene 19:06.
“We’re looking forward to getting some rest this week and then finish the regular season strong,” said Michake.
The Huskies will be back in action on October 14 in Decatur at the Dew It On The Trails meet.
