PINSON- The Homewood Patriots traveled to Pinson Valley Friday night and came away with a 10-7 victory.
Pinson (1-4) got on the board first with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Reese to Raymond Lewis to start the second quarter.
The Patriots (3-3) drove deep into Indian territory three times but were held scoreless.
Homewood quarterback Will Myers finally got the Patriots on the board with a three-yard run with 5:53 remaining in the third period.
With the game tied 7-7 late in the third quarter, the Indians drove deep into Homewood territory.
The Pinson offensive could not get in the end zone and had to settle for a field goal attempt.
The attempt was blocked and the game remained tied.
The Patriots would not waste the opportunity.
Myers completed a 72-yard pass to Kylen Newell.
The Homewood offense stalled at the Indian seven-yard line.
Whit Armistead kicked a 24-yard field goal to give the Patriots a 10-7 lead.
Pinson Valley had one last chance but could not put points on the board.
Joshua Woods had 17 carries for 99 yards, Asher Hawkins was the leading receiver with four catches for 72 yards. Reese was 13-of-24 for 130 yards and one touchdown.
Pinson travels to Huffman next Friday night.
