CHARLOTTE- AJ Allmendinger won the Bank of America Roval 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday.
The victory was the 41-year-old’s first since 2021. Allmendinger led for 44 laps.
Tyler Reddick, the pole winner led every lap to win Stage 1, while Chase Elliott won Stage 2.
“This is why you do it,” Allmendinger said. “This is the only reason you do it.”
“You fight. All the blood, sweat, tears, everybody at Kaulig Racing has just been such – I wouldn’t say a down year, but an up-and-down year.”
The Californian now has three Cup wins to go along with his 19 wins in the Xfinity Series and five wins in ChampCar/CART.
Ross Chastain, Kyle Busch, Bubba Wallace and Brad Keselowski were eliminated from the playoffs.
