BIRMINGHAM –A 63-year-old Bessemer woman was shot and killed during an argument between two groups of people on Monday, Oct. 16.
Officers arrived on the scene when they observed the victim, Trudy Mustin, 63, of Bessemer, inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and then transported the victim to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. UAB Hospital staff pronounced the victim deceased at 7:53 p.m.
The initial investigation suggests this shooting stems from an escalation of two groups who were having an ongoing argument.
Multiple persons of interest were transported to BPD Headquarters where detectives interviewed them. The persons of interest were then released.
