Matthew Wade Roskam, born July 29, 1965, in Janesville, Wisconsin, was called to heaven on October 10, 2023. He lived a life full of love for his Savior, his loving wife, proud parents, children, granddaughters, and those he served in ministry. Matthew was a minister for over 30 years in both Birmingham, Alabama and Griffin, Georgia. His life touched many. He once described his role in ministry as a “curtain-puller,” revealing the glory of God and the richness of His grace to others.
Matthew also worked as a Senior Software Developer with Echelon Fitness and was an avid technology aficionado. Matthew was passionate about learning throughout his life and enjoyed sharing things he learned with others. Matthew loved the art of play and spent every moment he could playing hundreds of boardgames and card games with his family and friends.
He is survived in death by, his loving wife, Tamara (Tammy) Roskam; parents, Mervin and Carolyne Roskam; children, Crystal Stillwell (Tristan), Nicholle (Nikki) Pelter (Joseph), Ian Roskam (Carsen); siblings, Stephanie Nall (Brian) and Mark Roskam (Christie); grandchildren, Sophia Roskam and Ada Stillwell; mother-in-law, Eva Miller; sister-in-law, Teri Burch (Jerry); uncles, Gary Johnson, Lee Terry (Sharon); aunts, Debbie Trei (Randy), Sharon Terry (wife of the late uncle Don); nieces and nephews, Brianna Boomer (Matt), Wyatt Nall, Alex Roskam, Victoria Frederick (Markus), Garrett Roskam, Harrison Roskam, Nicholas Roskam, and Hayden Roskam, and a host of cousins.
