TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville City Council elected its new leadership for the November 2023 – October 2024 term on Tuesday night, Oct. 24. Jaime Anderson was elected as the new council president and Ben Short was elected to be the new president pro-tem.

“Congratulations,” outgoing president Lisa Bright said. “Thank you for the opportunity to serve as president. I’ve enjoyed it and learned a lot, and I appreciate your patience as some things I have struggled through, but I’m a better person for it. So, thank you so much.”
Mayor Buddy Choat and the council expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Bright for her leadership over the last year.
“Lisa, thank you for a great job this year,” Choat said. “It’s not as easy as you think, I can assure you. We appreciate your leadership.”
The Trussville City Council regularly meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m., at the Trussville City Hall Annex. A workshop is usually held on the Thursday preceding the council meeting at 5 p.m.
