BESSEMER — A 13-year-old boy has died almost a week after a domestic shooting inside his Bessemer home.
The original shooting happened at around 6 p.m. inside a residence in the 100 block of 22 Street in Bessemer on Oct. 24.
According to Carol Robinson, Timothy was known as Tinman or Junior by his family. He would have turned 14 in a few days. He was in eighth grade and played basketball at Minor Middle School.
The shooter, Helvetius Hall, 53, was in a relationship with Timothy’s mother. He is charged with first-degree assault and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Hall was taken into custody by Bessemer police at the residence. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million bond.
