IRONDALE — An Anniston man has died from injuries sustained in an Irondale crash on Tuesday, according to Senior Trooper Justin O’Neal of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
O’Neal said that a single-vehicle crash at approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, has claimed the life of Timothy W. Thomas, 72, of Anniston when he was critically injured after the 2023 Nissan Altima he was driving left the roadway and struck a bridge column.
“Thomas was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday, Oct. 31,” O’Neal said.
The crash occurred on Interstate 459 near the 27 mile marker, within the city limits of Irondale, in Jefferson County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
