Charles “Bo” Canning, Jr., 70, was called home on Reformation Day, October 31, 2023, in Trussville, AL. Bo was born on October 2, 1953 in Mobile, Alabama to Charles Canning Sr. and Martha Morgan Canning.
Bo married Patricia Ann Hill on November 4, 1977. He worked as a Civil Engineer in the concrete industry for 40+ years. Bo was a member of The Lutheran Church of Vestavia Hills where he had served as an Elder.
Bo was best known for his love of the Lord which was made evident in his daily actions. Bo always had a smile and he was always making people laugh. He never met a stranger. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. He would not hesitate to talk about them. Bo was a very generous man and he would have given the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. He loved the Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide!). Bo was very patriotic and was so proud to be an American.
Bo is survived by his wife Patricia Canning, his children – Charlee Mitchell (Stephen) Tiffany Ulbricht (Benjamin), Miga Batten (Todd), grandchildren – Manning, Mae, and Magnolia Mitchell, Olivia Ulbricht, Julia, Caleb, and Logan Batten, father, Charles G. Canning Sr., his Aunts Rose Ferrell and Sibyl Berg, Uncle John Canning (Connie), Sisters in Law- Francis Hill and Christine Hill Cooper, as well as many, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved dearly. He is also survived by his best four legged friend, Gus.
Bo is preceded in death by his mother, Martha Morgan Canning and grandson, Max Cannon Mitchell.
