TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council has approved the closure of Liles Lane road for culvert repair at their meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The Liles Land Culvert Project that will replace damaged culverts along the road was awarded to Tortorigi Construction in Resolution 2023-84. A subsequent resolution approved the shutdown of Liles Land road. Construction is expected to begin on or around Dec. 11.
Councilman Perry Cook said the approved contract bid was for $474,883.
Information pertaining to the detour route for the closed section of Liles Land road is being sent to the Trussville Tribune and will be posted as soon as it has been received.
The council later passed a resolution allowing the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) to replace their signs on Interstate 459.
In other business, the council passed the following resolutions:
- Ordinance Directing the City Clerk to Place a Public Notice on All Enacted 2023 Ordinances
- Resolution Approving Unpaid Leave for a City Employee
