CALHOUN COUNTY — A man and woman from Heflin were killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:05 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The driver, Anthony A. Finley, 58, and passenger, Kimberly H. Finley, 59, both of Heflin, were fatally injured when the 2002 Toyota Sienna they were in was struck by a 2016 Ford Mustang driven by a 30-year-old Thorsby man.
“After the initial impact, the Toyota left the roadway, stuck an embankment, and multiple trees before overturning,” Bailey said. “Anthony A. Finley and Kimberly H. Finley were both pronounced deceased at the scene.”
The crash occurred on Interstate 20 near Alabama 281, approximately three miles east of the Oxford City Limits, in Calhoun County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
