TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville football coach Jake Garrett will make a return appearance on Jeopardy on Wednesday, Dec. 20.
Garrett made his last appearance on the popular game show on March 20, falling just $1 short of winning the day. His loss triggered anger among online viewers who called foul when the winner received credit for a wrong answer.
One of nine contestants invited back for a second chance, Garrett and his wife, Maddie, along with his parents Danny and Carol Garrett, made the trip to Hollywood for the taping of the show during the last week of November.
“I majored in history in college, so I’ve always loved trivia,” Garrett said ahead of his March appearance. “And then one day I just thought, how do you get on Jeopardy!?”
Garrett said that getting on the show was a fairly long process, starting with an online test called the Jeopardy! Anytime Test. Those who score high enough on the test get put into a pool from which potential contestants are chosen.
