BIRMINGHAM — Friday kicks off a multi-day weather rollercoaster for Alabama.
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, Friday will see a line of thunderstorms move through the Tribune area between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All of the local school districts are closed Friday for virtual learning.
The biggest concern for Friday are high winds and rain with a small chance of tornadoes. High temperatures will be in the low 60s.
Beginning overnight Friday, temperatures will drop into the 20s at night but Saturday, Sunday and Monday daytime temps will be in the 40s.
Monday will start with a 30% chance of rain and snow in the morning rising to a 40% chance of snow after noon into Monday night. There is a 20% chance of snow on Tuesday which will see temperatures remain in the 20s throughout the day.
Less than 2 inches of accumulation is expected locally, but the amount expected increases northward.
