PINSON – This Valentine’s Day, or as some like to call it, “Singles Awareness Day,” the Pinson Valley Arts Council has put together a special night just for the singles.
On Feb. 14, 2024, singles in and around the Pinson area are invited to come out to enjoy dinner and a paint party, titled “Mingle While You’re Single.”
Artist Jim Tidwell will be present instructing attendees in a group painting project. Additionally, dinner will be catered.
“There’s always something for couples do to on Valentine’s Day,” PVAC founder DieDra Ruff said. “They can go to dinner, go to the movies. They can focus on each other or have a date night. But the average single is sitting home alone with nothing to do. I just thought this year I would focus on giving the singles something to do. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll meet someone and connect, but who knows? You don’t know, and giving them an opportunity to do that – something close by – just felt like what I wanted to do and focus on singles this year.”
Tickets to Minge While You’re Single are $25 per person and will include a full dinner and everything needed for the paint party. The canvas painting will be called “Heart Explosion.” The caterer for dinner is yet to be determined, but Ruff said she is considering Papa Sal’s, who catered PVAC’s “Heart and Sole” Valentine’s date night for couples last year.
“Mingle While You’re Single” will take place at the Pinson Valley Art Council, located at 4289 Main Street, Pinson, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024. Space is limited, so be sure to R.S.V.P. with the number in your party to (404) 379-0096.
“If you’re single, or you know somebody that’s single, please invite them to come to it,” Ruff said. “They’re probably going to be home doing nothing and this is an opportunity to come and maybe mingle while they’re single.”
