BIRMINGHAM — Tribune area residents are bracing for another shot of arctic air and freezing temperatures over the weekend, but warming relief is on the way.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a hard freeze warning from Friday at 8 p.m. until 12 noon Saturday. A second hard freeze warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday.
Lows for Friday and Saturday nights will be 12 and 13 degrees respectively. Saturday’s high temps will stay below freezing at 30 degrees.
But daytime temperatures on Sunday will reach the 40s, followed by highs in the 50s on Monday on Tuesday. Rain returns on Tuesday night, Wednesday and Thursday as temps rise in the 60’s, including a predicted high of 67 on Thursday.
