TRUSSVILLE — After a weekend of freezing temperatures, followed by days of relentless rain, large potholes began developing on Interstate 459 in Trussville and Hoover.
Both potholes were quickly becoming a nightmare for motorists.
The large Trussville pothole, on I-459 southbound near I-59, caused damage to multiple vehicles on Thursday. The Tribune reached out to the Alabama Department of Transportation after being contacted by several readers about the problem.
At 10:36 p.m. on Thursday, Linda Crockett of ALDOT released a statement which said the 1-459 pothole in Trussville had been repaired.
“The Alabama Department of Transportation has repaired a pothole that was reported on the I-459 southbound near the off ramp in Trussville,” Crockett said.
The pothole on I-459 in Hoover near the I-65 exchange was also repaired by ALDOT Thursday night.
