TRUSSVILLE — A man attempting to outrun an Alabama State Trooper on the Interstate ended up crashing in Trussville and landed himself a trip to jail, according to Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“At approximately 7:51 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, a trooper with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division attempted to stop a 2019 Dodge Charger for speeding on Interstate 459 in Jefferson County,” Bailey said.
The Dodge failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued onto Interstate 59 and eventually onto North Chalkville Road near Valley Road, where the vehicle crashed and became disabled.
During the pursuit, the ALEA Trooper’s patrol vehicle struck a curb and sustained minor damage.
“The driver of the Charger, later identified as Raymond L. Story, 25, of Lincoln, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and attempting to elude,” Bailey said.
Story was transported and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
No further information is available as troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
