TRUSSVILLE — Trussville attorneys Leslee Hughes, Scott Hughes, Sharon Davis and David Moore, formerly with Blount Hughes, LLC have rebranded as The Cahaba Law Group LLC. The firm will occupy a new office at 6647 Green Drive, Suite 107 in Trussville.
“We are very excited about our new venture and our recommitment to providing quality legal services to the community, said Scott Hughes. “We think our new name is very appropriate since the headwaters of the Cahaba River are near our new office, and of course the Cahaba River is part of the fabric of Trussville. That is what we are striving to be as well.”
Both Scott and Leslee Hughes are former State of Alabama Assistant District Attorneys with a tremendous amount of courtroom and litigation experience. However, Scott also explained that both Sharon Davis and David Moore regularly litigate matters and are not afraid of the courtroom.
“I think the thing that helps our attorneys be able to understand our clients’ needs and offer both legal and practical solutions is due to our diverse backgrounds. Leslee has been a small business owner in addition to being a seasoned, very experienced attorney,” he added.
“Sharon has a tremendous amount of experience in the trust and will administration area, having worked in the trust departments of banks. David Moore has been involved in the aviation industry and has also been a small business owner. And I was fortunate to have a very rewarding 27-year career with the U.S. Army,” Hughes continued.
“Among the four attorneys here, we have over 80 years of combined experience. We will continue to provide experienced legal representation and counsel in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate Court matters, Matrimonial and Family Law matters including divorce, custody, support and adoptions,” he said. “We also provide representation in criminal defense cases, and civil litigation matters including contract disputes, fraud, and injury cases.”
While located in Trussville, the attorneys with The Cahaba Law Group are licensed to practice in Federal, State and Municipal Courts in Alabama and have successfully handled a variety of legal matters for clients all over the state.
“We have all been members of the Trussville community for years. We’re all parents, and we have dealt with estate and other legal issues within our own families. In a lot of situations, we really do understand right off where a client is coming from,” Hughes said.
The partners at The Cahaba Law Group intend to be part of the fabric of the community. They have already established a recurring scholarship that will be awarded to a student graduating from Hewitt-Trussville High School who is planning on pursuing a career in law, law enforcement or government. They also contribute to local non-profit organizations such as The Maggie Bowles Foundation and The Fine U Foundation. The attorneys are also making plans to conduct free estate planning and other legal workshops, host a “document shredding” event, and sponsor several other community events throughout the year.
“We feel that it is our responsibility to give back to our community not only as a corporate tithe of sorts, but to also pay forward the blessings we are receiving through being able to help others.” Hughes explained.
In addition to the attorneys, The Cahaba Law Group has two experienced paralegals on staff, Mollie Blake and Laura Wilson. They routinely interact with clients and support the attorneys in a wide range of areas.
“We couldn’t do what we do as attorneys without them,” Hughes stated.
