IRONDALE – The Shades Valley Lady Mounties defeated Pinson 26-7 Monday night.
Valley scored 26 runs on three hits.
The Lady Mounties went up 6-0 in the first inning on four walks by Pinson. A Jenna Paxton single put another two runs on the board.
The Indians came back with four runs, three on errors, in the first inning to make it a 6-4 game.
The Lady Mounties put eleven runs on the board in the second. Brookelyn Cossey singled and drove home two runs. Nine runs came on walks or hit batters.
Pinson added three runs in the second, making the score 17-7.
Ariana Rice single scored Kharly DeLaine to give the Lady Mounties an 18-7 lead. Eight additional runs came on walks and hit batters.
Paxton had one hit, five RBIs and three runs. Rice had one hit, three RBIs and four runs. Cossey added one hit, three RBIs and 4 runs.
Paxton was the winning pitcher giving up two hits, three runs and striking out five batters.
Shades Valley returned to action and fell to the Homewood Lady Patriots 15-2 last night.
The Lady Mounties trailed 7-2 in the fifth inning before an eight-run sixth inning put the game out of reach.
Delaine and Cossey each had a hit while Paxton had an RBI.
Paxton took the loss for Valley.
The Lady Mounties host West Blocton next Tuesday at 5 PM.
