From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — A part of Valley Road in Trussville that closed on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, for emergency repairs, will reopen at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
Mayor Buddy Choat said recent weather caused a slope failure and the slope had to be repaired. The city had to dig part of the slope and put in around 4,400 tons of riprap rocks to stabilize the slope.
Heavy equipment was brought in, so Choat said the road had to be closed from Linden Street to the Pinnacle. Linden Street remained open.
The roadway was not damaged.
