BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a tornado watch for several counties.
Blount, Cullman, Dekalb, Fayette, Greene, Jackson, Jefferson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston counties are included in the watch area.
WInds up to 70 mph and large hail have been reported in western counties. Reports of downed trees were made in Fayette County.
The watch remains in effect until 5 a.m.
