BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Board of Education cobbled together graduation information on Friday for all 14 of its high schools.
In addition, Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin announced that May will be dedicated to all graduating seniors impacted by the school closures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication,” Gonsoulin said. “Not only for this year, but throughout your educational career.”
Gonsoulin confirmed that graduation ceremonies will occur with each school determining when, where and the manner in which graduations will be conducted with safety/health guidelines still in place.
“I know this is an unusual thing,” Gonsoulin said. “But the class of 2020 will be remembered by the world; how you graduated, how it was different and so, I want you to go into it with that mindset.”
