HUEYTOWN — The Clay-Chalkville varsity basketball teams rolled at Hueytown on Friday night.
The Lady Cougars (16-4) drilled Hueytown, 75-44.
The Clay-Chalkville boys (14-6) got by Hueytown, 55-47. Senior forward Brian Clark had a huge night, scoring 25 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Junior point guard Hasan Abdullah scored eight points, handed out 13 assists and stole the ball five times.
The Pinson Valley varsity girls lost at Pleasant Grove, 42-39. The Lady Indians (4-14) were led by junior forward Maralie McKinney, who scored 13 points.
The Pinson Valley varsity boys won their third straight game, defeating Pleasant Grove 68-58. Senior guard Zach Jackson led the Indians (11-7) with 16 points, four assists and four steals. Junior guard Donevan Waldrop scored 15 points and senior forward Harrison Johnson chipped in with 10 points. Senior forward Kerry Griffith had eight points and five rebounds.
