BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Health Department, the Jefferson County Commission and Alabama Appliance are hosting Jefferson County Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Three drop-off locations will be set up in Bessemer, Gardendale and Irondale. Locations will be accepting items from 8 a.m. until capacity is reached or 11:30 a.m.
Items accepted include ammunition, batteries, electronics, white goods, household cooking grease, motor oil, antifreeze, paint, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizer, prescription drugs and tires. There will be a limit of eight tires and no rims will be accepted.
Participants can also have up to five boxes of paper shredded during the event.
Drop-off locations: 1205 15th Avenue North, Bessemer; 940 Main Street Gardendale; 7952 Crestwood Boulevard, Irondale.
