BESSEMER — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a Monday night homicide in Bessemer.
Jeremy Melvin Simpson, 29, died as the result of a gunshot wound. The Bessemer Police Department responded to the 2100 block of Berkley Avenue at around 9:15 p.m. on the night of Monday, Aug. 31.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Simpson suffering from a gunshot wound. Officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
The incident is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bessemer Police Department at 205-425-2411.
