CENTER POINT — COVID-19 continues to impact the 2020 high school football season.
According to an announcement from Center Point head coach George Bates, his team’s trip to St. Clair County this Friday has been canceled due to “COVID related issues” within the Saint’s program. Should the Class 5A, Region 6 game result in a forfeit, Center Point would improve to 6-3 overall, including a 4-2 mark in league play.
After eight successful outings, this will be the team’s first COVID-19 stoppage of the year.
Bates also announced a change to next week’s schedule, as the Eagles will now host Corner on Thursday, Oct. 22 in a contest that will determine third and fourth place finishers in Region 6. That game was originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.
