TRUSSVILLE — The play “Blithe Spirit” will be Friday through Sunday and Feb. 21-23 at ACTA Theater in Trussville.
Friday and Saturday shows are at 7 p.m., while Sunday shows are at 2:30 p.m.
Directed by Nell Richardson, “Blithe Spirit” has been a comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages since 1941. Novelist Charles Condomine, whose first wife Elvira has been dead for seven years, has been reasonably happy with his second wife Ruth, that is, until he invited the eccentric Madame Arcati, a local medium, to conduct a seance in their home.
The Condomines are joined for the evening by Dr. George Bradman and his wife Violet, although both couples are highly skeptical, and Charles is merely collecting material for his next book. Pandemonium reigns when Elvira is summoned from the Other Side, as Charles is the only one to whom she is visible and audible.
The cast includes Donna Cleckler, Mary Anne Garrett, Kevin Garrett, David Gregson, Suellen Wilkins, Donna Love and Lynne Long.
Reservations can be made by calling the theater at 205-655-3902.
