BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham police are investigating a shooting that left a 2-year-old in critical condition.
The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of the 200 block of Boxwood Circle in Birmingham. Sergeant Rod Mauldin, of the Birmingham Police Department, says the 2-year-old victim was transported to St. Vincent’s East with life-threatening injuries.
No updates on the child’s condition have been provided.
Mauldin says the preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting took place during an altercation between adults. No arrests have been made. This is an ongoing investigation.
