After a rainy week, a few Tribune-area baseball teams worked in a little field time this weekend.

SOFTBALL
All-St. Clair County Tournament Softball Team
Seven locals, including four from Springville and three from Moody, were recently named to the All-St. Clair County Tournament Softball Team. The No. 9-ranked Tigers beat Moody 16-5 in the tournament finals.
All-tournament recipients include Makalyn Kyser (MVP)-Springville, Tatum Bartlett-Springville, Graci Black-Springville, Reagan Cornelius-Springville, Brooklynn Sertell-St Clair County, Aubri Giardina-St Clair County, Samantha Hennings-Victory Christian, Jayda Burgess-Ashville, Sammie Day Jones-Ragland, Maddie Barfield-Moody, Carmen Terry-Moody, Jana Morrow-Moody.
BASEBALL
Moody 3, Pinson Valley 2
Moody’s Major Yancy singled in the winning run on Friday night in a 3-2 victory over Pinson Valley (9-5).
His walk-off single represented the Blue Devils’ eighth hit of the game and improved them to 7-8 on the year. Zach Johnson drove in Moody’s remaining two runs, ending his night at 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
Caleb Jatko tossed a one-hitter with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Leeds doubleheader
The sixth-ranked Green Wave split their double dip on Saturday, starting with a 12-9 loss to Corner and closing with a 6-3 victory over Shades Valley.
Leeds (15-3) saw seven players record at least one hit in the three-run win. Avery Stephens and Joseph Whitcomb led the way with three hits apiece for the Green Wave. Josh Gragg and Jackson Chambers teamed up on the mound with nine strikeouts in the win.
Springville doubleheader
The Springville baseball team dropped two games to Hueytown on Saturday, 13-3 and 10-2.
The Tigers (11-6) committed four errors and surrendered 17 hits in the morning session, which ended by mercy rule after five. In Game 2, Hueytown collected 16 hits en route to a 10-2 victory.
Springville first baseman Jake Goolsby finished the day with two doubles and three RBIs.
