BIRMINGHAM — Police are investigating after a juvenile was shot on Sunday night in Birmingham.
According to Greg Garrison, people were shooting fireworks at passing cars and pedestrians leaving Railroad Park following a 4th of July fireworks show.
Video from a guest at the Hilton Hotel showed a group of people running down the same street firing guns. Five shots could be heard on the video.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel transported the victim to Children’s Hospital where authorities say she is now in stable condition. Birmingham police say the preliminary investigation suggests an unknown suspect began firing shots in an alleyway before fleeing the scene on foot. No arrests have been made.
Anyone with knowledge of the incident is asked to contact BPD at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
