SHELBY COUNTY — A four-vehicle traffic crash on U.S. 280 near Shelby County 41 has caused state troopers to close the westbound lanes on the highway. The westbound lanes will be shut down for an undetermined amount of time, State Trooper Justin O’Neal said in a statement Thursday, August 5, 2021.
The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is on scene assisting with traffic control. Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area if possible by utilizing alternate routes. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly.
