School systems across the state are making changes as the number of students testing positive for COVID-19 is increasing.
The school’s extracurricular activities, including football, will continue.
Two other schools in Lee County, Beulah Elementary School and Wacoochee Elementary School, also went virtual this week.
More than 200 students in Lee County Schools have tested positive for COVID-19.
Other schools that have switched to virtual since the beginning of the school year include Hatton Elementary School in Lawrence County, Thomasville Elementary School in Clarke County, and all Greene County Schools. Pike County Schools also closed for one day for cleaning, but returned after the cleaning and sanitizing was completed.
