BIRMINGHAM — Deputy Coroner Bill Yates has released the name of a 73-year-old woman killed in a three-car accident on Pinson Valley Parkway near the intersection of Meadow Craft Road on Saturday night, January 15.
Ronda Bilbro Early, of Mulga, was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:?16 p.m.
“The decedent was the driver of a motor vehicle traveling southbound on Pinson Valley Parkway near Meadow Craft Road, when her vehicle was struck in the rear by another vehicle,” Yates reported. “The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.”
One of the drivers left the scene on foot, and is still wanted fro questioning.
“Witnesses on the scene informed deputies that the driver of one of the cars had fled the scene on foot,” the press release states. “Deputies searched for the fleeing driver but were unable to locate him. One person was transport to the hospital for treatment. Evidence left on the scene will help identify the driver who fled.”
