TRUSSVILLE — A Trussville golfer won a junior championships last week.
Logan Archer won the 43rd Pigeon Dove Junior Championship last week at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.
With the win, Archer earned an exemption to play in the Veritas Junior World Golf Championship in July.
To win last week’s tournament, Archer birdied two of his final four holes to edge Lance Moore for the title, according to the Daily Mountain Eagle. Archer carded a one-over 72, giving him a two-day total of 140 after firing an opening-round three-under 68. Moore, from Hamilton, finished with a two-day total of 142. They were the only two players to finish the tournament at even par or better.
A total of 90 junior golfers played in the tournament.
Trussville’s Parker Jones also played in the tournament, carding a two-day total of 155.
Archer this year has also won the State of Alabama Qualifier to play in the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship in San Diego, Calif., in July. He will be traveling to play at Torrey Pines South July 14-18.
