BIRMINGHAM — A juvenile was injured, and an adult male was killed in a shooting on Monday, Dec. 26, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
“Officers arrived at UAB Hospital and learned an adult male gunshot victim was pronounced deceased upon arrival; a juvenile male was struck by gunfire and is believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated. “The preliminary investigation suggests the victims were inside of a vehicle traveling in the 1400 Block of Carson Road when a suspect(s) fired upon their vehicle.”
The victims were driven to UAB Hospital via private vehicle.
Fitzgerald stated East Precinct officers are on the scene located in the 1400 Block of Carson Road.
“Details are limited in this investigation,” Fitzgerald stated. “Currently, there is no one in custody.”

This is Birmingham’s 134th murder investigation of 2022, including 10 justifiable death investigations.
