From Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The build up started days ago. The Hewitt-Trussville High School social media accounts offered glimpses of the new uniforms with a series of photos teasing the upcoming full reveal.
But nothing prepared HTHS fans for Sunday’s unveiling and the fashion statement of the year.
The model for the new uniform was none other than Husky baseball star Grayson Pope.
Pope was seriously injured in an accident in early summer while on a golf outing with friends. Since then, he has battled surgeries and intensive rehab, overcoming odds with the same tenacity he’s known for on the diamond.
Sunday, Pope had more than enough gas in the tank to try his hand as a male model and show off the new unis for the upcoming season.
The community that rallied around Pope responded with overwhelming approval. The reveal received thousands of views and likes across multiple social media platforms.
