ALEXANDER CITY — Hubert and Opal Parker, who were married Dec. 8, 1939, give God all the Glory for their 75 years together. At the age of 94 and 93 they are blessed with a wonderful family: son and wife, Wayne and Linda Parker of Trussville; daughter and husband, Donna and Mike Wells of Alexander City; and daughter Janet Parker of Steele. They have six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The Parkers originally resided in Tarrant until 1943. They lived in the Trussville and Clay area until 1996, when they moved to Alexander City, where they presently live.
Hubert is a World War II veteran, having served in General Patton’s 3rd Army in the 90th Infantry Division and Occupation of Germany for a year after the war. He later worked with the U. S. Post Office and retired with 30 years of service in 1977.
A host of family and friends will celebrate the anniversary on Dec. 6 in Alexander City.
