CLAY – Three different members of Clay-Chalkville’s Class of 2016 have garnered scholarship offers over the past week.
Twins Amari and Armoni Holloway both received offers from Alabama A&M after offensive tackle Cole Garrison pulled down an offer from Central Arkansas.
“Extremely blessed to have received my 9th offer from Central Arkansas,” said Garrison via Twitter.
He holds offers from Alabama A&M, Central Arkansas, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, Murray State, Tennessee Tech and Tennessee-Martin among others.
Garrison, who was selected to be on the All-Tribune Football Team, represented his state in the 29th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic on Dec. 12. Only the top seniors in the state are selected to play in the yearly clash.
Garrison currently has no leader.
“I’m going to go on my officials and make a decision after that,” said Garrison on Monday.
For the Holloway twins, Alabama A&M marked their first scholarship offers. Amari, a cornerback, and Armoni, a safety, both landed on the All-Tribune Football Team’s “honorable mention” list.
Amari ended his first and only season as a starter with a team-high six interceptions to go along with 37 tackles and six passes broken up. Armoni, also a first-year starter, wasn’t shy when it came to run support. The safety finished second on the team with 61 tackles while breaking up a team-high eight passes and grabbing three interceptions.
