TRUSSVILLE — Anyone who has struggled to maintain an active lifestyle knows that it can be challenging. Work, school and life itself can get in the way and keep people from moving as much as they should.
That’s why Eskridge and White Motion Therapy has been in the business of helping people move for over fifteen years. And this summer, the Trussville location has introduced a number of new programs designed to do just that.
From working with patients to stretching athletes to their fullest potential, the staff at EW Motion Therapy has served the Birmingham community since 1999. Since then, the business founded by Mike Eskridge and Ethan White has continued in its forward momentum, opening its Trussville location in 2010 and serving an entirely new community.
“The main goal of EW is to empower motion in communities, lifestyles, fitness, wellness, rehabilitation, and sports,” said Hannah Kelly, a Physical Therapy Aide at EW Motion Therapy in Trussville.
When it comes to physical therapy, the therapists at EW are trained to treat a wide range of injuries.
“A positive patient experience is the biggest focus at EW,” said Kelly. “We educate our clients while providing hands-on one-on-one attention. We use an approach that takes the whole client into account when evaluating and developing a treatment.”
However, EW Motion Therapy is not just about helping people regain old motion, but about helping them find brand new ways to keep moving. This summer’s new programs are designed to provide the Trussville community with fresh opportunities to be active.
“We feel movement is an important aspect of daily living,” said Kelly, “so we want to invest in anyone who wants to improve their quality of life.”
The new programs include a performance enhancement class for athletes ages 12-19, a “Save Your Bones” class geared at fighting osteoporosis in women, a Parkinson’s-based exercise class, a balance improvement class and a therapist-led yoga class. A dance-based fitness class also offers fast-paced exercise, and social dance instruction teaches steps such as the waltz and the tango.
“Our new additions focus primarily on communities and active lifestyles,” said Kelly. “We want to continue adding value to the Trussville community beyond our current involvement.”
With so many new opportunities for so many different kinds of people, EW Motion Therapy is making good on its promise to keep people moving.
Eskridge and White Motion Therapy is located at 183 Main Street in Trussville. More information is available at Ewmotiontherapy.com or by phone at 655-1009.
