BIRMINGHAM –With Miss Alabama week well underway, good news for one local participant came in late Wednesday night when Cassidy Jacks, Miss Trussville, won first place in talent.
Jacks flawlessly belted out the Etta James classic, At Last, from the Wright Center stage on the Samford University campus to claim the win.
The talent competition accounts for 35 percent of the contestants’ scores.
Jacks is a graduate of Springville High School and the University of Alabama.
Cora Lynn Griffen and Mi’a Callens tied in the swimsuit competition.
Forty-seven girls are competing for the crown. The winner will be named Saturday night.
