PINSON – The Pinson Valley Indians won three games last season.
Cedric Lane’s 2016-17 Indians are almost there already.
The Indians improved to 2-0 with a 78-49 win over Hewitt-Trussville.
The Lady Huskies led all the way behind London Coleman to beat the Lady Indians 68-34 in the girls game.
The Indians boys, who beat Jackson-Olin 132-65 as they harassed the Mustangs at every turn, had a tougher time with the Huskies, but not much. They led 42-27 at the half, thanks to the defensive pressure and intensity. Colby Jones, Elijah McKinney and Jerell Willlie led the charge.
In the opener against J-O on Tuesday, six Indians scored in double-figures, led by Chris Lewis’ 25, McKinney’s 19, Georgie Pollard’s 18, Jones’ 18, Keijon Duncan’s 13 and Willie’s 12.
The Huskies will travel to Shades Valley on Monday while the Indians host Pelham on Tuesday.
