Some classes at Paine Primary School recently showed kindness and compassion by participating in special class projects.
Students in Angie Seeley’s first grade class decided they wanted to participate in a service project for the holidays to aid families in the local area. They collected canned goods for T.E.A.M
. and toys for Trussville Fire & Rescue.
The students in Shayna Swann’s second grade class brought in a dollar they earned from their allowance and chose a recipient to anonymously receive their dollar. They wrote a short note wishing the recipient a Merry Christmas and an explanation of why they wanted to give them the dollar. The students decorated the page and attached their dollar. Next, they decided where they wanted to place their dollar and delivered it accordingly.
Students in Gina Gamble’s second grade class held a class yard sale to earn money for a needy family. Students brought in toys, games, books and candy, then invited other classes to shop at their yard sale. The students earned more than $75, which went to the aid of a local family in the community.
