Both Hewitt-Trussville soccer teams were eliminated in the Class 6A quarterfinals Saturday night at the Trussville Civic Center.
The No. 10 girls’ team fell to No. 4 Mountain Brook 2-1. Lacy LeMaster scored the Lady Huskies’ only goal, finding the net with five minutes to play in the game. The girls finish the season with a 17-4-1 record.
The No. 10 boys’ squad dropped its quarterfinal game to No
. 2 Vestavia Hills, 8-1. River Coop scored the lone goal for the Huskies, which finished the season with a 15-7-3 record.
It was the first time in school history that both Hewitt-Trussville soccer teams reached the state quarterfinals.
For the girls’ team, Allie Wiggins made the all-metro first-team this season, and Jessica Vaughn and Lauren Smith made honorable mention.
For the boys’ team, Luke Reeves made the all-metro first-team this season, and Griffin Wright, Tanner Fulton and Isaac Searcy made honorable mention.
