HUNTSVILLE – Trussville native Caleb Roberts recently attended the Space Academy at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville or, as it is more commonly known, Space Camp.
Space Camp is a week-long education program intended to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) as well as train students in teamwork, leadership and problem solving through several hands-on activities and missions.
Caleb got to spend his week at space camp training with a team as they flew a simulated space mission to the International Space Station (ISS) where they participated in experiments and even performed a spacewalk or, as the professionals call it, an extra-vehicular- activity (EVA).
Once the mission was completed Roberts, and his crew, returned to earth and graduated from Space Academy with honors.
